The lighter is a tool and low-cal source. Players are automatically provided with this at the beginning of the game and therefore cannot be looted or removed from the inventory. Information technology was added in update v0.01 of The Forest .
Gameplay
The lighter emits a minor amount of light and is used to start fires and ignite effigies, molotovs or weapons that have been crafted with material. The thespian starts with the lighter, and information technology will never run out of uses. By default, the lighter can be equipped past pressing L. When held, the lighter may flicker on and off, showing the player to switch it back on (which is done automatically when it goes off). This can pb to some unpleasant situations, especially when the player is really in need of a light source. Using a more durable calorie-free source is therefore advised. The lighter (as well every bit the flashlight) is held in the player's left hand, and it is one of the few items that is. As such it can be used with nigh other items. The lighter cannot run out of fuel.

Trivia
- The logo on the lighter reveals that it'due south made by a company called CIL (formerly CIB). The naming and logo shows that its a parody of pop lighter manufacturing visitor, BIC.
- When the Lighter was first released, it was yellow, so inverse to light blueish and now dorsum to yellow.
